What does beixo mean?
The word beixo is a combination of the English word 'bike' and the Portuguese word for axle: 'eixo'. Also in Brazil beixo translates into 'kiss'. ![]()
How does a beixo ride?
Fast, flexible and fun! Its shimano nexus gears and powerful V-brakes turn beixo into a dynamic and all-round bike-concept. The 20-inch wheels are protected against air-leaking and give a stable riding position. ![]()
Can I take beixo onto the train or bus?
Yes you can: Unless they obstruct the pass ways, folded bikes are allowed to be taken on the train, metro bus etc. beixo is smudge-free so need to worry about other people and their belongings. ![]()
Does beixo fit into my car?
Yes, the beixo-compact fits in alomst any car trunk because folded in, beixo is only 80x55x35 centimeters. To take the slim into your car you first have to take out the front wheel. ![]()
Why there is only one frame size beixo?
beixo can easily be customized to everyone's personal height by adjusting the saddle position and the handle bars. Anyone from 1.39 meters up to 1.99 meters is thus able to find a perfect fit. Click here for all the beixo-specs. ![]()
Why are the beixo-compact and slim available in only one color?
beixo is technically very advanced. The use of aluminum and the full black underscores its uniqueness and makes it a pure and timeless riding sensation. ![]()

What is a shaft drive?
Shaft drives have been used on bicycles since the beginning of cycling. The axle used for pedaling and the axle in the rear wheel are both equipped with a cogwheel. These axles are intertwined by means of another axle, a driveshaft. A shaft drive is more expensive than a traditional chain, but its numerous advantages easily outweighs this aspect. The system is entirely closed to prevent any smear from coming out and any dirt from getting in. The BMW motorbikes are renowned for their reliability and road hogging ability. BMW uses the shaft drive, same as beixo. ![]()
Why are beixo-bikes made of aluminium?
Aluminum is a lightweight material and is unable to rust. Also, the use of aluminum gives beixo a spiffy look. ![]()
Do standard accessories fit onto beixo?
Almost all accessories fit onto the beixo-compact because of its standard sizes. The only exceptions are the handlebar pin and the saddle pin: these are extra thick to give extra strength. You can find all beixo accessories at the beixo shop. ![]()
FAQ maintenance
How do I maintain my beixo?
Just like you would maintain an ordinary bike except for the cleaning, smearing and tightening of the chain; this is not necessary anymore!
Tip: silicon spray helps to keep beixo clean because it prevents dirt from sticking to it. ![]()
What do I have to do to maintain the shaft drive?
Almost nothing! The closed system is sealed for life en already contains all the grease it needs. Only near the rear wheel the shaft drive needs a regular drop of oil. ![]()
Where can I buy spare parts?
All beixo accessories and spare parts can separately be purchased by sending an e-mail to info@beixo.com. ![]()
Can a regular bicycle repair man repair beixo?
Yes, no problem at all because most parts of beixo have standard sizes. ![]()
Does beixo rust?
No. beixo is made of aluminum which does not rust at all. Also, beixo has been treated with polyurethane varnish to protect the outside and every bolt and every nut is made out of stainless steel. For maximum protection use silicon spray to help to keep your beixo clean and rust-free. ![]()

How much does it cost to ship my beixo?
The costs for shipping and delivery in the Netherlands and Belgium are included. Accessories when purchased together with beixo are shipped for free. Rates for the UK and other countries you find in our webshop when indicating your address. ![]()

We ship to all European Union countries. ![]()
How soon can I have my beixo?
beixo's are shipped twice a week so within a maximum of tree to four days, beixo is yours. ![]()
Do I have to assemble my beixo myself?
No, because a beixo comes almost fully assembled. For the compact the only thing you have to do is open the box, put the batteries in the rear light, unfold beixo and ride! Before shipping, beixo is fully tested and checked to ensure a perfectly adjusted beixo. For the slim you also have to assemble the pedals. ![]()
What if I am not home when my beixo is delivered?
In your mailbox you will find a message from DHL indicating a second delivery date. If you are again not able to meet this date, you can pick up beixo at a local DHL depot. ![]()
