FAQ Technical

What is a shaft drive?

Shaft drives have been used on bicycles since the beginning of cycling. The axle used for pedaling and the axle in the rear wheel are both equipped with a cogwheel. These axles are intertwined by means of another axle, a driveshaft. A shaft drive is more expensive than a traditional chain, but its numerous advantages easily outweighs this aspect. The system is entirely closed to prevent any smear from coming out and any dirt from getting in. The BMW motorbikes are renowned for their reliability and road hogging ability. BMW uses the shaft drive, same as beixo.
